Asset-Backed Securities

Various subsidiaries of Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation (NMAC) regularly issue asset-backed securities. Asset-backed securities are interest bearing securities sold in the public markets. The securities pay interest to the buyers at agreed upon interest rates based on the outstanding amount of the securities. Principal of the securities is repaid to buyers based upon the amortization or liquidation of the underlying assets. In the case of Nissan asset-backed securities, the underlying assets include consumer retail installments and lease obligations purchased by NMAC or affiliates, and dealer credit receivables.
